In Tokyo, one of the world's leading modern metropolises, many folk performing arts have been handed down in each region, such as the ward, Tama, and islands, and passed on to the next generation as intangible cultural properties. This year, under the theme of “prayer for fertility,” the appeal and diversity of Tokyo Metropolitan Prefecture's intangible cultural properties will be widely disseminated to the citizens of Tokyo, starting with field play related to the venue, Asakusa Shrine's Binza Sara, Oji Dengaku, Okutama's Kawai Yakumo Shrine Shi-shi mai (Lion dance performance), and Tarama Shi-shi mai (Lion dance performance) (Tarama Island, Okinawa Prefecture) as an island entertainment.
