“Karate (Okinawan traditional karate)” is known as a martial art that originated in Okinawa, and since it was officially adopted as an additional event for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, karate has received more attention than ever before. There are over 400 karate dojos in Okinawa Prefecture, and reports from Okinawa Prefecture reveal that there are as many enthusiasts as there are 2 million people in Japan and 130 million in the world. Karate is one of the martial arts rooted in Okinawan culture, and martial arts and techniques are being refined at various dojos, but there is still much to be done about that academic research
