Right after the end of the war, Ryukyu dolls were born as souvenirs targeting American military personnel stationed in Okinawa, and developed as an industry by women. It is loved by people for its Ryukyu costume and warm expression that conceals the kingdom, but now it is disappearing. In 2025, the 80th year since the end of the war, new dolls created by Higareo using modern technology, unique dolls that embody Okinawa's political and cultural diversity, will be collected and exhibited in one place, starting with the collection “Please hand over your Ryukyu dolls.” It depicts the history of life in Okinawa from the viewpoint of daily necessities of houses on the island, memories of people's lives, and small dolls standing in between.
