It is natural for things to fluctuate, and although it is uncertain, I think that is rich. What has remained the same until now is drawing pictures of the “now” I feel, but chasing the disappearing present is like grasping a cloud. Going forward, I would like to continue to leave ambiguous boundaries in my own way so as not to overlook something that makes my heart bounce somewhere.
-------- Nakahara Arisa
At the time of our first meeting, I heard from the person himself that “I haven't drawn Japanese paintings in a while.” However, when I wanted to see Japanese paintings by an artist named Arisa Nakahara, I was aware of the impossible request and whined, “I will wait forever.” The result of making up that pun is the result of this solo exhibition. It is certainly a very exciting solo exhibition where you can see the process leading up to the completion of her work, centering on her Japanese paintings. I am convinced that this is the first step in a big project involving not only me personally, but also people who know the writer Nakahara Arisa, and even people who don't know it.
