Artist Teruya Yuken, who is active both domestically and internationally, is working on the installation work “CHORUS,” which imaged the Yanbar Forest, and superimposed an overture from Mozart's opera “The Magic Flute” into his work at an exhibition held at Nahato in 2022. Using that inspiration as a trigger, they will perform the world premiere stage work “Teruya Yuken's “The Magic Flute”, produced by Naha and where Teruya is in charge of overall direction, planning, and stage design. “The Magic Flute” was dismantled and reconstructed by incorporating the Okinawan people and scenery that Teruya envisions, social issues stemming from the Battle of Okinawa, and traditional Okinawan music and physicality. The story is arranged by incorporating choral singing and Ryukyuan classical music. Based on Mozart's music, it will be developed with dance performances and music incorporating Okinawan ambient sounds.
