Many Korean seasonal workers traveled to North and South Daitō Island in the 1970s to engage in sugar cane harvesting and sugar production. There are still many things we don't know about the actual situation, and it is no exaggeration to say that it is a forgotten fact, especially in Korea. Listen to a lecture by Professor Tomohiro Hara, who is proceeding with research activities while linking the memories of the islanders with the few records left in Japan and South Korea on this issue, which is strongly defined by changes in international relations in East Asia.
