Contents
There are two types of wildcats living in Japan: the Tsushima leopard cat, which lives in Tsushima in Nagasaki prefecture, and the Iriomote cat that lives on Iriomote Island in Okinawa prefecture. 10/8 was established as Torayama Day and Tsushima Lynx Day after the local name “Torayama” for Tsushima leopard cats. An event to learn about the two types of wildcats will be held on Torayama Day. On 10/5 and 6, wildcat rice balls will appear at the parlor welcome.
