A presentation of the “Iejima Village Dance,” which is a nationally designated important intangible folk cultural property. There are three types of village dances in Iejima: dances created uniquely centered around Nisai Odori (youth dance), dances introduced from the main island of Okinawa and Sakishima, and Yamato style performing arts influenced by the mainland. Group dances created based on “Chushingura,” which is also known as Kabuki, have also been preserved and handed down only on Ie Island, and these village dances are performed by villagers.
