Shaten Sai Rei (Shakten Sai Rei) is an event held once a year as a national event (ceremony) of the Ryukyu Kingdom to honor the achievements of Confucius and his beloved disciples (Anshi, Soko, Mencius) during their lifetime. On 9/28, which is said to be Confucius' birthday, pigs, fish, chicken, confectionery, fruit, sugar cane, silk fabrics, alcohol, etc. are offered at the Kume Shisei Mausoleum, and the Shishomon Gate is only opened on this day.
