Instructor: Shirota Masaru (actor/singer)

Nowadays, musicals have become an important field of performing arts around the world. In the future, that knowledge will become indispensable for students aiming for performing arts. Therefore, this time, we will invite Shirota Masaru, who is active in a wide range of fields, such as television, film, stage, music, and directors, as a special lecturer to talk about the appeal of musicals. Collaborative performances with art college students are also planned.

Actor and singer Shirota Yu
He debuted as an actor in 2003. Since then, he has been active in a wide range of activities, including TV, movies, stage, and music. It received numerous awards, such as winning the 65th Agency for Cultural Affairs “Drama Division” Rookie Award for the musical “Elisabeth” in 2010, and the 28th Yomiuri Drama Awards Excellence Award for the 2021 musical “NINE.” The Tokyu Theatre Orb was held in 2024/5, and the musical “Tokyo ~ The City of Music and Love ~” produced, directed, and performed by himself was held in Singapore in June, and became a hot topic. In October, an orchestra concert “Shirota Yu 25th Anniversary Orchestra Concert ~ featuring Naoya Iwaki” will be held to commemorate the 25th anniversary of their debut.
