Furuken Shiki
Timpani percussionist. He graduated from the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory at the top. Born in Okinawa Prefecture, he started playing percussion instruments when he joined the Okinawa Municipal Misato Junior High School brass band. Entered Kunitachi College of Music in 2019. Through studying at a music college and participating in performance activities outside the university, I decided to study abroad with a sense of inquiry, especially for opera. After dropping out of Kunitachi College of Music, he went to Italy. Until now, I have studied percussion under Mutsuko Taira, Toru Uematsu, Hidehiko Kouzai, Paolo Pasqualin, Andrea Bindi, and Matteo Moretti. It ranked first in the snare drum category at the Italian International Percussion Competition as its main award history. 2nd place in the YAMAHA European edition. Highest ranking in the Ryukyu Shimpo Music Competition percussion category. It has received many awards, mainly for drumming instruments, such as the gold medal in the Okinawa Prefecture Music Contest solo percussion category, and has performed with various domestic and international orchestras, ensemble orchestras, recordings, etc. with timpani, percussion instruments, drum sets, etc. Teatro Sociale di Como (Italy) principal timpani player. Orchestra Chiasso (Switzerland) principal timpani player.
