A live event related to the “Meiwa Denki Nonsense Machine Exhibition in Okinawa” to be held at the Okinawa Prefectural Museum and Art Museum from 7/13 to 9/16.
●Meiwa Electric Nonsense Machine Exhibition in Okinawa
Meiwa Electric is an art unit formed in 1993 by Nobumichi Tosa. In the 30 years since it was formed, numerous “nonsense (supercommon sense) machines” have exploded into the world. In particular, the adorable electronic musical instrument “Otamatone” in the shape of a musical note has attracted attention from around the world, and viewers are engulfed in a whirlpool of surprise and laughter. In this exhibition, we will trace the trajectory of Meiwa Electric up until now, and generously introduce Mr. Tosa's creative “ideas” and the secrets of his ability to create ideas into reality along with valuable materials. There will also be events such as a gallery talk called a “product briefing session” where the president himself talks about his work, a super creative seminar for business people, and special live performances.
