Irei-no-hi (War memorial day) Peace Dissemination Project hosted by Mr. Urasoe.
In Part 1, they sing chants (votive songs) for the purpose of thanking the ancestors who survived the disaster of the Okinawa War and leading a memorial service to all war dead who died in the Battle of Okinawa, and pray for permanent peace in the world. In Part 2, a short documentary film spelling out the historical trajectory of Shimakutuba, produced by the NPO Okinawa Hands-on NPO, will be screened and thought about peace. Admission is free for both.
