Contents
Okinawa has a unique culture nurtured by its history and climate, and Okinawan art has also been cultivated while being greatly influenced by the times, positions, and circumstances. The chapters are divided into pre-war, post-war reconstruction, Okinawan immigrants, and contemporary art, and modern art works of Okinawa are traced in chronological order along with their transitions. Throughout the year, we will introduce how artists have captured and expressed each period, and works by artists born in or related to Okinawa who are active inside and outside the prefecture.
