Lecturer: Tamaki Yasushi (Director, Nakijin History and Culture Center)

About 10 years ago, many human bones were collected from caves in Nakijin village as remains of war dead people. However, since there is a possibility of a burial mound, when the human bones were dated, it was determined that they were from the Gusuku period. There are very few examples of human bones excavated from the Gusuku period in the prefecture, and this was the first case of such a consolidated excavation in the northern region.
In this lecture, I will introduce people from the Gusuku period in Nakijin, centering on the results of excavations of cave ruins carried out in the 4th to 5th year of Reiwa.
