Among the students mobilized to the battlefield as the “Himeyuri Student Corps” in the Battle of Okinawa, there were 9 people from Kume Island, and 5 of them died, 4 survived, and 1 current student lost his life in the southern part of the main island while evacuating with his family. Through an exhibition focusing on students from Kume Island, we will also introduce images of parents who lost their daughters and people from Kume Island who worked at the Himeyuri Peace Museum.
