The unusual pictorial map “Journey to Fujian” held by the Okinawa Prefectural Museum and Art Museum depicts in detail the route leading from Naha Port to China (Fuzhou) and the surrounding islands. In this course, we will decipher that pictorial map and consider the world of Ryukyu, which flourished as a kingdom of the sea, from the perspective of people who have traveled back and forth over the sea.
Note that the “Journey to Fujian Route Map” will be on display from 6/11 (Tue) to 30 (Sun) in the museum's permanent exhibition room in the history section.

Capacity:200 people (first-come-first-served First-come-first-served basis on the day)
