This is the first film to trace all 14 parts of “Map of the Battle of Okinawa,” the culmination of which Maruki Iri and Maruki Toshi, painters known for “The Map of the Atomic Bomb,” worked on in their last years.
The director is Kawamura Atsunori, a former NHK producer and video journalist, and the production is the Sakima Art Museum in Ginowan City, which houses all 14 copies of “Map of the Battle of Okinawa.”
