“Rubodan” has devised the “SINPLE PEPAR MADE New Pull Paper Made” manufacturing method and is developing stationery that utilizes cardboard patterns and designs that were supposed to be discarded. Production is carried out at several self-reliance support centers in Okinawa Prefecture, and not only does it reduce garbage, but it also creates new jobs. Gima Choryu, the representative of “Rubodan,” and the artist, launched a new brand called “+ Rubodan” from 2023, starting with the creative activity “POP COLLAGE,” which uses scraps during production to express the “distribution,” “consumption,” and “garbage problems” that are visible and hidden in the background of familiar cardboard, as well as a new brand called “+ Rubodan” from 2023, and is also working on the production of new products that go beyond the boundaries of stationery.

In this special exhibition, we will create a new notebook using cardboard discarded at the shopping mall “PLAZA HOUSE” where the Okinawa store is located. Utilizing recycled resources from distribution and consumption falls into the hands of Gima, and it is realized as a pop work. Also, various fast foods have existed in Okinawa since ancient times, and “POP COLLAGE” works with the theme of the present and past will be exhibited for the first time in the “+ Rubodan” series. Through the work, you can appreciate the worldview of ritama, which expresses consumption and environmental issues, etc., and the idea of “Rubodan,” which reconstructs waste and revives it.
