Okinawa has a unique culture nurtured by its history and climate, and Okinawan art has also been cultivated while being greatly influenced by the times, positions, and circumstances. In this exhibition, chapters are divided into pre-war, post-war reconstruction, Okinawan immigrants, and contemporary art, and modern art works of Okinawa are traced in chronological order along with their transitions. We will introduce how the artists captured and expressed each period, and the works of artists from Okinawa or who are related to Okinawa who are active inside and outside the prefecture.
