Lectures related to the exhibition of excavated items from the inner ruins of Shuri Castle Kyō, “Turning Fragments into Shape”
Ceramics excavated from the inner ruins of Shuri Castle are designated as important cultural properties as valuable materials showing ceramic culture from the 14th to 15th centuries and trade in the Ryukyu Kingdom. Since these materials were found as fragments in the ruins of buildings thought to have collapsed due to a fire, it became necessary to connect these fragments and restore them. This exhibition focuses on the work behind the scenes called “restoration work.”
