Shibata Ayumi Shibata
Born in Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa Prefecture.
He moved to New York in 2007 and learned printmaking and mixed media at the National Academy School of Art.
He moved to Paris in 2015 and has been exhibiting and creating for 2 years at Atelier 59 Rivoli managed by the city of Paris.
He has been active since 2018 based in Japan. In the same year, large-scale works were exhibited at Milan Malpensa Airport in Italy, and selected at the German International Paper Art Triennale.
In 2019, it was selected for the World Crafts Triennale at the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa.
In 2020, a large-scale exhibition spanning 4 months will be held at the Fujikawa Kirie-no-Mori Art Museum. Since the same year, stage design for Moriyama Yoshiko's concert tours has continued to be produced and supervised, all by hand.
In 2022, the world's largest full-scale handcut work “Earth Song” will be exhibited at KITTE Marunouchi. At the “Christian Dior, Dream Couturier” exhibition at the Tokyo Metropolitan Prefecture Museum of Contemporary Art, she is working on a decorative exhibition of “Miss Dior's Garden” with cut-outs.
The solo exhibition “Shibata Ayumi: Kamigami no Mori” was held in December of the same year, and is touring all over the country.
