Ueda Masaki is an R&B soul singer-songwriter born in Kyoto. “Ueda Masaki and South to South” was formed in 1974 and stood at the peak of the band boom at the time. After that, she went solo, and in 1983, “That's a sad color, isn't it?” number 1 on the singles chart. Since then, in addition to releasing many albums and singles, they have also performed with foreign artists and performed overseas, and they celebrated the 50th anniversary of their debut in 2022 last year.
