This event began in 1994 at Nakano Kitaguchi Square, triggered by an encounter between the Ainu and Okinawans in Tokyo. It is held every fall for the purpose of people interacting and deepening exchanges through culture. Ainu and Okinawan performing arts are performed, starting with the Ainu ceremony called “Kamuinomi” and the traditional Okinawan ceremony “flag drawing.”
