How was that enthusiasm born and lost?
In the 1950s, it was transformed into a base island, and urbanization progressed. Passers-by stopped at the complaints of farmers who were evicted from their hometowns with bayonets and bulldozers. It's an island-wide struggle. I think the current Okinawan society is far from here. How was the huge wave of island-round struggles calmed down? Go back to the origin of post-war Okinawan history research and reread the “now” of blocked Okinawa. Okinawa's post-war history for the next generation.
