“Hai-Sai Island Friends” is an online talk event (scheduled to be held 5/20, 6/29, 7/24, 8/24) connecting the east coast of Taiwan and Okinawa and talking about traditional culture, etc.
In recent years, many musicians have incorporated words and dialects from their native language and their own roots into elements of pop music, and by incorporating melodies, they have inherited the traditional sounds of their hometown, and have begun dialogues with the world. This time, Barai, a singer from the Paiwan tribe who won the Golden Melody Award, and Okinawan “Sanshin (Three-string guitar) Garu” INAMINE Yukino will perform and discuss how they incorporate their native language into music and produce songs while creating music.
