Kanai (maiden name Kawahira) Kikuko is a female composer from Miyako Island who dedicated her life to Okinawa and music. The American film “August 15 Night Chaya,” in which she is also known for being the first Japanese woman to compose a symphony, was in charge of the music, is a Hollywood film set in Okinawa under US military rule, and Marlon Brando acted as the lead actor. This time, there will also be a symposium and a mini concert where you can enjoy Kanai Melody, based on the screening of that film.
