KuKuru is run by an Okinawan NPO corporation that supports the independence of children such as truant children. A talk event commemorating the release of the book “Children Who Can't Go to School in Okinawa Kukulu,” which depicts the worries of the children who gather there and how they become independent with comics based on true stories.
Through roundtable discussions with staff who manage children's “whereabouts,” they search not only for Okinawa but also for the environment surrounding children and solutions.
