The biggest event on Hateruma Island held on the 2nd day of the Kyubon (Bon festival on lunar calendar) festival. They make memorial services for their ancestors and pray for a good year and the safety of the islanders.
In the morning, they head to the community center with Michisane (costume procession) from each village, and each group performs sticks and taiko drums in the community center square, and performs a nimbuja (nenbutsu dance). In the afternoon, each group will perform a dedication performance on stage.
