Based on the testimony of Miyagi Michiko, who was mobilized as a female apprentice team at just 17 years old while attending Okinawa Prefectural Shuri High School for Girls, this is a live-action adaptation of historical facts where boys and girls were involved in wars due to national policy, and “The Gap Between Life and Death” of a boy student who goes to the forefront of the battlefield. The girls who fell in the Battle of Okinawa as nursing apprentices and were never talked about after the war are told to the younger generation who are building peace.
The families of Kenji Tabayashi and Michiko Miyagi, who are the directors of this film, take the stage and talk about their thoughts on the film, secret stories behind the filming of the film, and the state of peace activities.
