He studied erhu from an early age and graduated from the Chinese Wuhan Conservatory of Music, Department of Folk Instrument Performance. I went to Okinawa to study in 1999 and completed my master's program at the University of the Ryukyus Graduate School of Education in 2002. While in Japan, they held erhu recitals such as “Zhou Xia and Her Friends in Okinawa” and “Kiyone from the Yangtze River,” and performed with many Japanese artists. In 2006/4, Shuxia Okinawa Erhu Lovers Association was established and appointed as an advisor.
He got a job at the School of Music of Zhongnan University of Forestry and Technology in 2006. There were many recitals and recitals, such as “Kokuraku Roka,” “Momori Fragrance,” “Genjo Gayun,” and “Seigen Shiraku.” In 2012/7, he participated in the 3rd “Jin Lu Sho” Chinese Folk Instrumental Music Competition and won the Grand Prix. The “Shirabe Connecting China and Okinawa - Zhou Xia Erhu Recital” was held at Okinawa Tedako Small Hall in 2013/8, and many media such as the Okinawa Times, Ryukyu Shimpo, Hunan Daily, China Culture Report, and the official website of the Chinese Musicians Association were widely reported. They visited the University of the Ryukyus in 2016/10, interacted with the Faculty of Education, and finally participated in the “Shuxia Okinawa Erhu Lovers Association” 10th Anniversary Presentation.
A student concert was planned every year, and the students who coached them participated in competitions within the ministry and nationwide, and received many awards, and received the “Excellent Instructor” award.
