The picture book “Traveling Cat and the Shrine Camphor Tree” was published in 2022 by two writers representing Japan, Ikezawa Natsuki and Kuroda Seitaro, on the theme of the atomic bombed building that remains in Hiroshima City, the former Hiroshima Army Clothing Depot. One year has passed since its publication, and a new picture book conveying war and peace by both people was published. The theme this time is Okinawan “persimmons.” A talk event commemorating the publication of a work that tells stories of people who were at the mercy of the world and unreasonably lost their lives through a boy and a goat.
