The Sunan family were members of the Shuri family (samurai) whose lineage was Zanami Shinumo Kamiyoshi. The first Ryoyoshi served Nago Yoshitoyo, who was a high-ranking official of Shuri Wangfu, and was given a homestead in Shuri Momohara-mura by the king. However, after the 10th Ryohatsu, he was unable to take a position in Shuri Wangfu, and eventually he moved to Sashiki Magiri. Efforts were made to secure a stable income, such as acquiring venue land at the place of emigration. In this special exhibition, we will introduce the reality of warriors who moved to rural areas through Chonan family documents and handed down items that were shown for the first time.
