Contents
Beach clean-up volunteer activities where you can learn about environmental conservation through beach clean-up activities and classes about the natural environment. Those who wish to participate must register in advance by 12:00 p.m. the day before the event. An “eco coupon” that can be exchanged for an admission ticket to the Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is distributed for every total of 2 hours of clean-up activities.
・Preliminary explanation (explanation of the area, types of garbage, biological hazards, heatstroke countermeasures, etc., distribution of cleaning tools) approx. 10 minutes
・Coastal cleaning (only man-made objects are cleaned; pumice, driftwood, etc. are not included in the cleaning. Dispose of as garbage in the park) 1 hour (2 hours from November to February)
・Summary (considering sorting, environmental conservation/ecosystem preservation, presenting an eco-coupon to the person concerned) approx. 20 minutes
