In the past few years, combined use of deep ocean water on Kumejima has attracted a great deal of attention against the backdrop of heightened need for immediate carbon neutralization, instability in global food supply, decline in fishery resources, etc. The use of deep ocean water, which combines low temperature, cleanliness, and nutritional properties, is expected to become increasingly important in order to ensure global sustainability in the future.

The purpose of this forum is to introduce the present state of Kumejima, which is at the cutting edge among 38 deep sea water use regions around the world, and to share concrete plans for the future.
