“Mountain Day” on 8/11 is a national holiday with the purpose of “getting an opportunity to get close to the mountains and be grateful for the benefits of mountains.” In order to make the purpose of this enactment known, the national tournament, which is held on a national rotation every year, will be held in Okinawa on 8/10/11 in 2023. Various ceremonies and events will be held at “Yambaru” and “Iriomote Island,” which have been registered as World Natural Heritage Sites as regions rich in biodiversity.
This event is the starting event for the main tournament. You can enjoy events close to the mountains, such as climbing experiences, wooden toy experiences, starting a fire, making folk tools, displaying camping equipment, selling food and drink using kitchen cars, and live comedy performances by Eisho Gotoku & Nakaza-senpai.
