“Mountain Day” on 8/11 is a national holiday with the purpose of “getting an opportunity to become familiar with the mountains and being grateful for the benefits of the mountains.” In order to make the purpose of this enactment known, the national convention, which is held on a national rotation every year, will be held in Okinawa in 2023. Various ceremonies and events will be held at “Yambaru” and “Iriomote Island,” which are registered as World Natural Heritage Sites as regions rich in biodiversity.
