“Anne Frank, why did you die and we survived?”
Written by Emi Kajimoto, directed by Kenichi Kasai
“Anne Frank” was written by Anne Frank, who lost her life at age 15 in a Nazi concentration camp in 1945. The two best friends who survived wrote through their diaries and asked, “Why did you die and we survived?” I will try to face that era. Even now with the COVID-19 pandemic, we are facing the danger of a world where each person's important daily lives are so easily lost. The Nazi era wasn't special. In every era, normal people are complicit in the times before they know it, and the crisis deepens. The life and death of Anne Frank is a deep question and a wake-up call for what we must not lose even now.

Whether it was comfort stations for the Japanese military during the war or comfort facilities for the US military after the war, it was women who were killed. That voice has been suppressed. A unique one-man play depicting the structure of sexual violence involving the government and military with a man's narration.
