How can performing arts be inherited in a changing modern society? Naha Cultural Arts Theater Nahato, which opened in 2021, has continued to develop projects related to the succession of performing arts and the development of leaders since the first year of opening.
A variety of performing arts rooted in daily life have been left in Okinawa. Implementation has become difficult due to the effects of the recent COVID-19 pandemic, and in the past few years, including rituals such as rituals such as rituals such as rituals, etc., have been forced to be canceled or suspended. However, in the past, there were many performing arts that were interrupted or interrupted in various social environments surrounding Okinawa and the present day, such as the collapse of the Ryukyu dynasty, war damage, and lifestyle changes.
Therefore, in this concert, a three-part structure is planned to focus on “songs” revived by the feelings of modern people even though succession has been interrupted in a historical context, and discuss the process of revival, the background of singing, and future succession issues along with the demonstration.
I would like to share with many people interested in taking over the performing arts how the historic “songs” left behind in regions etc. can be sung.
