Japanese indigo is commonly known as Japan blue, and various indigo dyeing works that live all over the country such as Ryukyu indigo from Okinawa prefecture, Awa indigo from Tokushima prefecture, and date indigo from Hokkaido will be exhibited. Furthermore, indigo has a deep connection with traditional techniques such as Nishijin textile, Arimatsu shibori, kasuri, and pongee, etc., and you can see the height of dyeing and weaving techniques that have been outstanding since ancient times in Japan.
