“Culture is born where artists we have never met before jump over languages, borders, and genres of expression, and mix.” Based on this concept proposed by Hideki Noda (playwright, director, actor), the “Tokyo Caravan” developed from 2015 to 2021 includes Tokyo, Brazil, Tohoku, Kyoto, Kumamoto, Toyota, Kochi, Akita I traveled domestically and internationally to Iwaki, Saitama, Toyama, Okayama, and Hokkaido, and learned the history of each region and the valuable culture that people have cherished from encounters with the people responsible for traditional performing arts and culture in that area, incorporating them into their creations, and “Tokyo It has created new expressions that can only be seen in “caravans”.
In this “Tokyo Caravan the 2nd,” we inherited the spirit of “Tokyo Caravan”, actors, musicians, double Dutch, puppet shows, Ryukyu dance, traditional Ainu dance, traditional culture, contemporary art, etc. From ancient times to the east and west, artists of various genres will meet together to create and perform performances that can only be seen here.
