Two days when UECHI gacha Kazuya called Gachapin, the owner of Urasoe Groove, who is leading the improvisation scene in Okinawa, is planning by guitarist Yasuhiro Usui who lives in Nagoya, to Nagoya for the first time in a long time. Starting with the production of Shimoji Isamu, he is the most popular musician and important figure in Okinawa, who is active in a wide range of activities beyond genres such as jazz, rock, island songs, etc. In addition to UECHI gacha Kazuya and Yasuhiro Usui, 9/6 (Tuesday) is an improv live performance with percussionist Naoto Yamahiro, who explores sounds before they become music from nature and everyday life. 9/7 (Wed) is an improv live performance with Yoshimei Yanagawa, a lone saxophone player living in Gifu.
Kazuya Uechi Gacha (W.Bass) from Okinawa
He is the owner and bassist of Urasoe Groove, which supports the underground scene in Okinawa. He performs a wide range of activities from pop to rock, jazz, improvisation music, and free jazz. He has performed with many artists from overseas, and in recent years has also been active in the acoustic small organization version of ALKDO on Turtle Island.
Yasuhiro Usui (GT from Nagoya)
A guitarist who lives in Nagoya and works in the Koshi genre with a focus on improvisation both domestically and internationally. Seeing improvisation as the source of music, they perform around 100 live performances a year. They also actively collaborate in different genres with butoh, calligraphers, poets, and painters, etc., and in recent years they have also disseminated a unique approach called improvisation, which is a way of thinking when performing improvisation. http://www.usui-yasuhiro.com
Naoto Yamahiro (per from Saitama) 9/6 (Tue)
Drums and percussionist. He explores music before music, places “rhythm, sound, and space” that arises from sounds and flows from everyday life on a large swell, and travels with sound in every space.
Yoshimei Yanagawa (A.sax from Gifu)
He began improvising in 1977. Activities started in the Nagoya area in 1982. He also participated in a number of projects inviting Motoki Takagi, John Zohn, Tom Cola, etc. to Nagoya. Since 1991, Otomo Yoshihide, Yoshizawa Motoharu, Midorikawa Keiki, Merzbau, etc. were invited as guests to co-star in the solo series “Earth and Map” at Shibuya Jiang Jiang. In 1994, he was in charge of dubbing the saxophone performance of Yasushi MACHIDA (Machizo), who played the main character Kaoru ABE in the movie "Endless Waltz" (director: Koji WAKAMATSU). He co-presides over improvisation sessions at Baar Musica TIO in Otsu City, Shiga Prefecture, and Pannonica in Gifu City.
