Reproductions of Japanese and Western paintings are exhibited and “compared” under the themes of “stories,” “people,” “life,” “landscapes,” and “plants,” taking up masterpieces from the collections of museums in Japan, Europe, and the United States Exhibitions. In Japanese and Western paintings based on the same themes and motifs, what kind of differences do you see in the way you express yourself and perceive things? The purpose is to be an opportunity to notice and think about the way artistic expression brought about by differences in culture, natural environment, religion, and worldview by comparing them.
Reproductions of masterpieces are exhibited in life-size, so you can experience the actual sense of size. It is also possible to touch pictures, take pictures, and reproduce them at the venue.
