As a culmination of nearly 60 years of investigating more than 530 limestone caves and evacuation shelters by the Okinawa Limestone Cave Association, the exhibition focuses on cave war ruins in Yaese Town. Maps of limestone caves in the town used in the war, maps of Japanese military positions, and considerations of evacuation routes and cave capacity are exhibited. Excavated items such as helmets, gas masks, and bowls are also on display.
