summary
Due to the pandemic of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), there are increasing opportunities for informatization to be pointed out, but the Government of Japan is also rapidly setting up the system, including the establishment of the Digital Agency. In order to survive the post-COVID-19 era, the informatization of society, business, and education can be said to be an urgent issue. According to a survey by US companies, 5G (5th Generation Mobile Communication Systems) accounts for about 40% of the total sales of wireless infrastructure products. The COVID-19 pandemic has resulted in a surge in demand for ultra-fast broadband connections for telecommuting and other bandwidth-intensive applications such as streaming video. Currently, 5G is becoming the fastest growing and featured segment in the wireless network infrastructure market. Today, Okinawa has achieved economic development with tourism and IT industries as pillars, but it has been severely stalled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the future, major changes and innovative policies will be needed to overcome this predicament. Digital Transformation (DX) is a big concept that shifts people's lives to better by instilling evolved and advanced information technology. Then, we will discuss broadly how industries such as tourism and IT companies that support Okinawa, government, universities, education, and society as a whole must tackle DX in the future.
