1964 (Showa 39) The torch of the Tokyo Olympic Games, which was held for the first time in Asia, ran through the main island of Okinawa. In 1973, the Wakatsu National Festival was held to commemorate the return of Okinawa to the mainland, and the first nationwide sports tournament was held in Okinawa and Naha. To commemorate the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, we will introduce the history and contents of sports and competitions held in Naha before and after the war.
