There are many connections between Himeyuri and Hawaii. Chiyoko Oyadomari was born in Hawaii, a teacher who led the Himeyuri Student Corps. Harry Gima Shinichi, who donated funds to purchase the area around the Himeyuri Tower, was a second generation of Okinawan descent from Hawaii. Some Himeyuri alumni moved to Hawaii after the war. An exhibition that introduces the connection between Himeyuri and Hawaii.
