Noh is a musical drama with a history of more than 600 years since the Muromachi period, and it is said to have had a great influence on the creation of traditional Japanese opera “Kumidori” in Okinawa. I will explain Nohgaku with difficult images in an easy-to-understand manner while touching on the common and differences between Okinawan performing arts.
In addition, taiko in Nohgaku has something in common with drums in Okinawa, such as using shimadaiko, which is also used in Ryukyuan classical music, and plays a voice. In practical practice, training and handling of drums are also taught.
