3/20 (Sat) Ryukyu Dance “Toguchi Traditional Performing Arts Preservation Association+Dance Isshin Higa Ayumi Ryukyu Dance Research Institute”
The Togu district of Motobu Town focuses on the succession of traditional performing arts, which hold the “Hoenen Festival” and “Great Tug of War” each in a six-year cycle. In January 2020, the Yugafu Stage will also perform various Ryukyu dance programs, including “Zodo Shochiku Plum Tsurugame”, a designated intangible folk cultural property designated by Motobu Town.
3/27 (Sat) Meizakura Acer+Okinawa Folk Song Unit Inagunguu
Based in Meio University in Nago City, Meizakura Eisa folk dance has celebrated its 25th year of activity this year. There are many requests for students with strong drumming and glittering performance of female dancers, and it reappeared in November 2020. Okinawan folk music by the female vocal unit “Inagungui” active mainly in the local Motobu town are also performed.
