Since the Suntory Museum of Art relocated to Tokyo Midtown in Roppongi in March 2007, “Unite Beauty. “Open beauty.” I have been working in the museum message. This exhibition commemorates the renewal and opening of July. The story that unites beauty and the story of unleaning beauty, which was studded in about 300 years from the Edo period to the 1900 Paris Expo in 1900, is a masterpiece of the Suntory Museum of Art. Select from the collection to display. “Story3: Ryukyu's Bingata with East Asian Culture” features a collection of Suntory Museum of Art on “Bingata”, a technique of dyeing that blossomed in the Ryukyu Kingdom period. Focus on a pattern Originally, patterns are “tools” for dyeing fabrics, but there is a unique “beauty” of pattern paper that makes full use of fine craftsmanship, and introduces its advanced techniques and hidden charm.

Story1: Old Imari where Europe was also fascinated
Story2: Nabeshima honed in offering to the shogun family
Story3: Ryukyu's Bingata with East Asian Culture
Story4: Japanese glass born from longing for the West
Story5: Edo-Meiji Ukiyo-e with East-West Culture
